Overview

Kad Jänf-trav was founded durring the early 19th century in late summer of the year 1810, by Zëîj. The establishment of Kad Jänf-trav was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Kad Jänf-trav's construction back out of the project. Zëîj pushed on reguardles, and Kad Jänf-trav was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Kad Jänf-trav was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the early 19th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kad Jänf-trav is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Kad Jänf-trav is buildings are located arround a single restrictive cobblestone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the city a over all circular shape. The city sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Kad Jänf-trav's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the city's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The city's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the citys defences.

Right off the bat Kad Jänf-trav hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this city has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. The influx of wealth has brought with it an influx of relaxation. Everywhere you look people are enjoying their prosperity in a slow, casual, and deliberate manner. There’s no rush for anything anywhere you look.

History

A vast influx of newcomers over the last 3 years has greatly spiked Kad Jänf-trav's population. They may have been drawn by economic opportunities, or fled some pursuing peril, or been forcibly moved there by a ruler who wanted to dilute the existing native cohesion. The natives may not have the resources or opportunities to integrate these newcomers, and it may be that the new population has no desire to stay longer than is necessary.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century a local hero by the name of protected Kad Jänf-trav's harvest from an army of bandits. was immortalized in song for this deed.
